Tinctures
As herbalists, in clinical practice, we are accustomed to using herbal formulations a combination of herbs whose synergistic effect is much greater than the sum of its parts, and acts harmoniously within the body because potential "side-effects" are intrinsically amended.
To best serve both health practitioners as well as well-informed people who tend to their own health issues, we offer 3 lines of tinctures to meet a variety of needs:
Single Herb Tinctures
First, are the single herb tinctures, which can be used with good effect for straightforward ailments and for health maintenance. They also can be used to create simple, personalized combinations. Many books that offer advice on the treatment of particular diseases make recommendations for single herbs. We believe they can be an empowering tool for those who are engaged in the process of self-care and self-healing.
Classical Chinese Formulas
Second, we offer a line of herbal formulas that are based on classical Chinese formulas that have been modified for modern clinical presentations. These are explained in terms of Chinese diagnostic and treatment patterns which may be difficult to understand for laypeople. They are geared toward practitioners of Chinese medicine or the clients of such a practitioner who has become familiar with certain Chinese herbal formulas. These tinctures are unique because, unlike all other pre-made Chinese medicines that we are aware of, these tinctures are made with herbs that are grown in the US and certified organic whenever possible (see individual formulas for details).
Blends
We also have a line of herbal formulations that blend Asian, European and Native American plant species to treat specific ailments. These formulas combine the most effective traditional medicinals across the world, and we use them frequently in our clinical practices because their effect is so reliable.
If you are purchasing herbs from us for the first time, please read the following precautionary message:
It is important to understand that the success of herbal medicine relies heavily upon using the right herb or formula for each unique individual and situation. If you are not experiencing the desired results, it is probably because what you’re taking is not the best medicine for you, or the dose is incorrect. Sometimes even the most intuitive and expertly trained herbalist needs a couple of tries before the most effective herbal medicine for a patient is discovered. Herbal medicine is a complex and profound practice that involves a huge body of knowledge about the plants and their dynamics with each other, with medications, and within the human body. The practice of herbal medicine also involves a variety of indigenous assessment and diagnostic tools that require years of practice to learn well.
For these reasons, we STRONGLY RECOMMEND that if you have a serious disease, please seek the advice of a well-trained herbalist!.
